Dr. Gamba received his Bachelors degree from Villanova University in 1972 and graduated from Temple University's School of Dentistry in 1976. He then joined his father's practice and they worked together until his father retired in 1985 after 51 years of practice.

In 1981, he was awarded Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, signifying over 500 hours of post-graduate, continuing education in various phases of dentistry. He has been a clinical instructor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, has lectured in practice management at the Temple University School of Dentistry. Because of his commitment to continuing education, Dr. Gamba spends more than 25 hours a year attending lectures and hands-on workshops on the newest advances in technology, materials and techniques in dentistry. He is also the consulting dentist for the Philadelphia Phillies Baseball Club.

 

Dr. Gamba is also committed to serving his profession. Some of the offices Dr. Gamba has held include President of the Philadelphia County Dental Society, Chairman of the Board of the Liberty Dental Conference, Council on Annual Sessions of the American Dental Association and Speaker of the House of the Pennsylvania Dental Association. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists.

Dr. Dr. Tom Gamba and his wife, Cynthia, have been married since 1971 and have two grown children. They have lived in South Philadelphia all their lives and active in their church as well as in civic and charitable organizations.
